Taj Mahal Review

In the evening on Saturday, February 17, 2007, while on a ski trip to Kirkwood, we were hungry. Some friends, present at the time, recommended Taj Mahal, an Indian restaurant in South Lake Tahoe that they've been to multiple times.

Taj Mahal turned out to be a consistently pretty good place, though with relatively poor service. Three of us ordered together and shared our dishes: chicken tikka masal, chicken biryani, and something else. All were quite good and respectable, though they were often spicier than at most Indian restaurants. The naan and the potato and pea samosas our table ordered were also good.

Service was marred by the waiter forcing us to do things the waiter should do, like passing out dishes to everyone. He distributed water glasses and dishes from one end of the table, making us pass them down to the other end. It's too bad our party was large enough that the restaurant automatically added gratuity.
